Planting and Care

  • Planting: Select a sunny, well-drained location, allow approximately 10–15 feet of spacing and keep the graft union above the soil line.
  • Watering: Water deeply and consistently, allowing the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings.
  • Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release fruit-tree fertilizer in spring and avoid excess nitrogen.
  • Pruning: Prune during dormancy for structure, airflow and size control; remove water sprouts and suckers.
  • Fruit thinning: Thin excess fruit in spring to support larger, higher-quality apples.
  • Pest and disease care: Inspect regularly and maintain good orchard sanitation.
