Planting:
Choose a location with full sun to partial shade. In hotter climates, providing afternoon shade is highly beneficial to protect the foliage and prevent leaf scorch.

Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and to the same depth. Prefers moist, well-draining, and organically rich soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH.

Watering:
Provide deep, regular watering 1–2 times a week during the first few growing seasons to build a resilient root system.

Maintain consistent soil moisture; dogwoods have a relatively shallow root system and do not tolerate prolonged drought or completely waterlogged, stagnant conditions.

Fertilizing:
Apply a balanced, slow-release general-purpose fertilizer in early spring just before new growth breaks dormancy.

Avoid heavy or late-season nitrogen applications, which can encourage weak, leggy branch growth and potentially lower the intensity of the spring floral display.

Pruning:
Requires very minimal pruning due to its naturally well-behaved, upright structural habit.

If necessary, shape the tree or remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches in late winter or very early spring while the canopy is completely dormant.

Pest and Disease Control:
