Tree Care:

Planting:
Location: Needs a full sun location (at least 8 hours) to develop that signature red color. Ensure the soil is well-draining; peaches don't like "wet feet."

Process: Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and just as deep. If your soil is poor, mix in some aged compost, but ensure the graft union stays 2 inches above the soil line.

Watering:
Initial Care: Water deeply twice a week for the first year to help the roots establish.

Fruit Swell: Increase watering in the 3 weeks leading up to harvest. This is the "final swell" period where the fruit gains most of its juice and size.

Fertilizing:
Schedule: Use a balanced 10-10-10 fertilizer in early spring before the blossoms open.

Dosage: A second, lighter application can be done in May if the tree is carrying a heavy fruit load. Avoid fertilizing after July.

Pruning:
Method: Maintain an "Open Center" (Vase) shape. This is critical for 'Blazeprince' to ensure sunlight reaches the interior fruit, which is necessary for the deep red skin to develop.

Timing: Prune in late winter or very early spring while the tree is still dormant.

Pest and Disease Control:
Disease Resistance: Bred for high resistance to Bacterial Spot, making it much easier to manage than older varieties.

Monitoring: Watch for Brown Rot on ripening fruit and Peach Tree Borers at the base of the trunk. A preventative copper spray in late winter is always a good idea.

Winter Care:
Insulation: Apply a thick layer of mulch around the base (keeping it 3 inches away from the trunk) to protect the roots from deep freezes.

Dormancy: Because it is a high-chill variety, it generally stays dormant long enough to avoid damage from early spring "false starts."

Climate: Specifically developed for the Southeast, it handles heat and humidity exceptionally well while remaining hardy enough for more northern regions.
